Weekend wrap-up

We started off the weekend with Brayden having his first ever ear infection and it was a double at that!

The good parents that we are went ahead with weekend plans. (My mom is a nurse so that's ok, right?) Jon and I went to a Halloween party Friday night and then headed to My moms Saturday to hang out with the kids before we went to the isu game.
The game was awesome! Jon and I had a great time despite the cool weather!
Yesterday the kids, my mom, my brother and I went to deal's orchard. It was fun! (And cold).

I love having weekends "off," but the aftermath is draining. Tired kids and husband. Laundry... And a puking baby! What the heck! Jon wasn't 100% and Kalyn was puking and the boys were tired but running wild! All of this AND we carved our pumpkin.

Monday is a relief!!!! :)

Holidays

Am I the only one getting excited for the holidays???? I am in a complete baking mood. I literally want to bake ALL day (and have someone else do the dishes and eat the baked goods!!!)

I am a planner (MOST of the time) and I am already putting together dates and planning for gatherings, gifts, school functions, and Kalyn's first bday party!!!
I try not to think how fast this year is going by, but how awesome she is in each new milestone she reaches.

Has anyone (friends/family) ever shopped at midnight on Black Friday?? I am seriously contemplating it. I hate shopping but are the deals worth it and if so kids' stuff or mostly just electronics?? I am making a game plan. We are also going to the football game that day (isu) sooooo I don't want to be TOO exhausted!!

I can't wait for jolly holiday lights and snow and sweatshirts....... :)

Once per week, Nolan and Kalyn "patiently" wait for thirty min while Brayden works with ms Anna his speech pathologist. They were extra patient today. So thankful for my double stroller, snacks, and kid puzzles on my phone :)

Small encouragement

I promise I will write about what we have been up to soon but I wanted to let you all know that I had a great surprise tonight. I checked in on my fitness pal and I have lost 15#s. I'm not there yet but that sure does motivate me!

My sweet Brayden

The other day when we were walking home from school, Brayden asked me if he could please go to papa's house. I said that papa was working but we could go to see him soon. He said no not that papa, my papa in heaven. Just to make sure I asked him if he was talking about papa Rick and he said yes.
I explained that we couldn't visit and that God is taking care of papa and that he is in our heart. Well that didn't cut it for Brayden. He wanted to know why he didn't want us at his house and which way is heaven and when can we go. I told him that there isn't a house like we live in, that heaven is "so tall" that it is higher than the clouds, and that papa would love to see him and play with him (even squinkies and play dough).
The questions kept pouring out and my heart kept breaking. I explained that God really really needed papa when Brayden was ten months old. Brayden followed that up with " I need to see papa really REALLY bad a lot now probably" - how do I respond to that? I said "we can't go to heaven today bc...." And that's when Brayden cut me off " bc cars don't have wings and can't fly?" So I agreed.

We sure do miss papa though!

Lazy Days

The kids and I had a fun time catching up with friends on Friday. We met them through daycare and miss them!!

Speaking of.... We stopped at "mama penny's" today ( just nol, k, and I) and the kids were too cute. They wanted us to stay so bad they started taking off Nolan's shoes. I miss those kiddos!!

And I miss penny! She is the best, hands down!

A lot of my friends have kids in school/ preschool and their kids don't nap, so I thought i would let Brayden choose today. He of course picked no nap and by three he was passed out on the sofa. Naps it is :)

**side note- he gets up too early for me and doesn't exactly have the quietest voice or gracefully light as a feather feet. So I thought if he were tired enough he might sleep longer...

Saturday was kind of lazy and Sunday was very lazy. This coming weekend we are super busy and that makes me a little excited!!

Tuesday

Ok... A few things before I forget. Brayden calls sneezes Bless Yous. :) melted my heart when he said "Nolan has the bless Yous again."

Kalyn is crawling. She army crawls like her brothers did. She has been scooting for a while or rolling everywhere but she waited for daddy to be home to crawl for him first. A part of me is excited for her but the other part of me is sad for me! At her 9 month appt, i scheduled her 12 month appt. she is growing up WAY too fast.

I have some OCD tendencies when it comes to certain things. One of them is the kids' clothes that they have outgrown. They are all organized and stored away. I feel like I go through their clothes everyday!

So... Nolan has an addiction to his paci. He only gets it when he is in bed BUT we thought we would take that from him. It was miserable. He is a REALLY GOOD sleeper and his cries on the monitor sounded like we took his best friend from him. Nolan doesn't ask for much (his brother always wants toys and such) but he wanted his paci to sleep with (not necessarily suck) him. You know what, that's fine with me. After I gave it to him he said thank you mommy paci and slept all night. You know, we ask a lot of Nolan. He was potty trained (yes even through naps and overnight) at 25 months. He tries to keep up with his brother in the school dept... I just feel like he is still a kid. SO I'm a bad mom.... I'm going to let him have his paci when he is in his bed sleeping. Oh well!

Can't believe Jon and I have been married for five years! My girlfriends are great and everything but Jon is my best friend. I have more fun with him just doing our normal everyday routine that it doesn't even compare to the wild nights that we used to have when we were single/dating each other.
I'm one lucky gal!!!!

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE fall??? Beautiful colors, cooler temperatures (except the day we got married.... A cool 96 degrees), football, and awesome apple/pumpkin/crockpot/DCB recipes.

Lastly, the COLOR RUN was such a good time!!! Our group already has some fun ideas for next year!!!!!!!!

She has two teeth and her first ear infection! :( bummer!! The other day I posted about cuddle time bc she had been sick with a cold or runny nose. Turns out she has an ear infection. Brayden never had an ear infection and Nolan ended up with tubes.
SO she will get lots of cuddles from me.
Kalyn slithers around our wood floors like she's a little snake!! It's so cute!! I wouldn't call it crawling but she definitely gets places she wants to be!
Taking a nine month picture was nearly impossible. Here's a couple: (the picture with her foot nearly in her mouth was when Nolan, Kalyn and I were waiting for Brayden during his speech appt. I thought it was a cute/funny picture.
