Cuddle Time

Lately, Jon and I have had lots of cuddle time with miss Kalyn. She is working hard on teeth, drooling like a faucet, and has a cold/is congested. I feel bad for her as she looks at me so sweetly and all I have to offer is my snuggles and she's ok with that :)

These days don't last long and right now, I am just soaking them all up!!

Preschool DAY For Nolan

Nolan has been working with miss melody from heartland AEA for his speech. Today Nolan had the opportunity to "go to school." For an hour and fifteen minutes, Nolan played with teachers and peers. He walked right in very confidently (maybe too easily for this mama!!). He marched right over to the books and wanted to read The Biggest Apple ( a book we read every night that Brayden's teacher gave him last year).

I am not ready for Nolan to be this grown up but it does make me excited for him! He is going to LOVE preschool next year!

TWO TEETH

Miss Kalyn sue now officially has two teeth (both on the bottom)!!!!!!!

What's new?

Keeping busy, of course! Last week we met with a speech pathologist and did some testing on Brayden. Long story short, he is NOT a candidate for having his adenoids removed, but he is a candidate for having his tonsils removed. Jon and I both had ours removed but we were much older--teenagers.

Nolan has his first preschool experience tomorrow via heartland AEA. I am excited for him!! He loves when melody comes to our house so I think he will love having time with his teacher and his peers!!

Brayden is really enjoying himself at school. Watch what you say and do around him because he will tell people!!! :)

Kalyn.... That sweet little monster..... She has been somewhat of a terror lately.... Another tooth? Maybe..... So we have gotten lots of snuggles lately.

Jon and I haven't been doing a whole lot of exciting stuff but we had a wedding this past weekend on his side of the family. It is always great catching up with the Schoeberl clan!!

Our FIVE year wedding anniversary is coming up. 5 years already.... In a way it feels like just yesterday but in a more practical-life- occurance kind of way it feels like ten years!

Date night

Jon and I were set up to have one fantastic date night (and afternoon) last Saturday. We had a babysitter for the kids and beer in our cooler. We headed up to Ames to tailgate with some friends. When we were making our way back to the blazer, I asked Jon if I could have the keys to turn the air on while I pumped before we made our way in to jack trice. The blazer wouldn't start!!! My pump worked and so did the radio, etc. BC our gas gauge has failed us before, we walk to the nearest gas station to get some gas just in case. We are back , Jon is filling the tank, but still nothing. Call AAA, they tow it.... And we have everything with us EXCEPT one of our tickets. With our phone both on the last little ounce of battery (of course we had a car charger but no car), we pulled off a rescue call. we sat on the curb and drank the beer from our cooler and laugh about our day while a good friend made the drive from wdm to pick us up. Thank you! (thank you everyone else that offered!) We ended the night with good company and a great memory!

Who knew these four letters would take on SO many different meanings in my life!
Saying I love slushies is way different than loving a picture my BFF took of my kids. Loving my husband as my husband vs. loving him as "daddy" to our kids. Loving the kids as a whole-having children and loving them as individuals. How can MY heart hold SO MUCH LOVE?!

Silly boys!

First tooth!

Yes, Kalyn's bottom right tooth poked through! It's still barely through the skin, but our baby girl now has a tooth!!

Sunday Fun-post

Brayden had fun at preschool last week. Day two was a little less cool than day one. Brayden was a little worried. BUT he loved it! Day three was just as fun! This week is normal preschool schedule. I am excited to get our new routine going!!

We have had a fun weekend so far. The iowa vs. isu game was terrible and that is being fair to both teams. I am secretly happy that isu won bc I like the coach and am looking forward to him being here a while. Love the emotion he shows. Ferentz just doesn't show when he is happy or upset.... Emotionless. He is professional though. Eh, it is a fun rivalry for the state and for our house. (and really cute pics)

Kalyn 8 months

She wanted nothing to do with sitting nicely for the picture. She wanted that sign and she was all smiles once she got it!!

First day of pre k

Brayden was excited for his first day of school! He definitely wanted to wear his favorite shirt and spiderman socks and shoes to show his new friends. His class has 16 boys and 4 girls.

Brayden was excited to have both mommy and daddy take him and also his brother and sister. He put his bag in his cubbie and sat down for a picture. Last year we had to beg him for pictures and leave him as he cried. NOT THIS YEAR! He was SO ready! All of his friends have already started school and he didn't quite understand why he hadn't started yet.

He told me that a boy cried bc he missed his mommy and then hit the teacher. "and we don't hit bc it's not very nice" :) then he told me the teacher "did this" (tickled) his head "but it didn't hurt". :)
He said they didn't play outside bc there wasn't time and they had goldfish for a snack. (they have shortened days this week).
He was all smiles when I dropped him off and all smiles when I picked him up!
Looking forward to a great school year!!!

Yesterday..... I met Jon. We were at Crush, which was a dance club. He was one of the six ppl dressed in 60's attire including the staff! He was with some Central guys that I knew and I thought he was a Central guy too. Turns out he's not but I love him anyway!!! 7 years together, almost 5 yrs married, 3 kiddos later and more love now than ever before!! Love you Jon!!!!
